Been invited to choose a plot today, yippee!!!

    That is all for now.

Ear bending advice required soon, once I have cleared the countless weeds!

    Thanks in advance.

    Take photos.

Get one with most sun - even if it looks worst. You can improve the soil but getting more sun is harder.

Maybe see what weeds are growing on it, some are hard to remove such as bindweed and marestails. Others might be useful such as nettles and comfrey (to make teas with, to feed the plants.) Try and make a plan before you get digging. Good luck!

Sorry to keep you waiting, I've been camping with the family all week..

The plot is great, 5 rod, in full sun gently sloping to the SW. It is full of weeds but nothing to serious that a strimmer won't clear with ease. I plan to attack it tomorrow in preparation of some xmas and winter veggies. One side is against a solid flint wall SW facing..Ideal for Rasberries???

So, come on then, tell me the best spuds ETC to plant for now and in the next few weeks please?

No holding out with your advice please, I'm so exited lol!!!

South west facing might be a bit warm for raspberries. They prefer it cooler and part shaded I find. How high is the wall?

                        Thanks

Ok, so day one completed on the allotment... Nobody warned me not to strim whilst wearing shorts My shins are bloody sore

I remembered to take a photo after strimming half the plot

This was after I had finished the first shift

Found some strawberries in the black pots which was nice.

My plot neighbours appear to be very friendly and helpful which is great. Had to hear all the latest gossip as well, although that isn't my scene at all!

I just need to decide how to plan the beds out now. Get a shed, greenhouse/polytunnel and some tools.

                              Very pleased so far.
