I am not sure if this has been posted yet or even if it is the right place but I noticed Landshare had an update on 24th May they have joined forces with The Independents 'Dig for Victory' campaign. This might be old news for some but if 6 people in a certain area request land to grow the Council has currently a legal duty to provide it and Landshare have set up a system whereby you can create a 'group' in your area. When a group reaches six people on the site the founder can click a button to send a pre-drafted letter directly to local councillors requesting an allotment."
I know councils probably have all kinds of stalling tactics, loopholes etc but I think at the very least it may register to them there's a need if there are numerous requests. I set up my group for the SG4 postcode area just now (shameless plug).
