I've bought a Red Haven peach tree from Aldi. The label says it may grow to 10' and its already about 7' tall and too tall to go in the GH in a pot. I don't have a south facing wall to train it against and, frankly, my expectations of having peaches are not great.
In the last house, there were 2 mature, fan trained Peregrine peaches and there always seemed to be some sort of a problem with it.(peach leaf curl, squirrels, etc).
So, what can I expect if I plant it in open ground and grow it as a tree?
Or, should I prune it to a size that would fit in a pot for the GH.
At £3.99 I'm happy to experiment!!
