My Mum, (An avid newspaper article clip sender!) Has just sent me this. I have these in my garden and have done since I sowed them in a seed mix last year. I saved the seeds and have loads again this year. They are lovely but are they deadly? Also, rare? I have thousands!

Don't panic unless you intend to eat it! There are lots of plants we all grow that shouldn't be eaten.

Oh goodness, I gave a load of corncockle seeds to the VSP - didn't realise they had a health warning (though I'd have to challenge the sentence that 'just touching a flower could knock a rambler out'.... I've picked them many times and never had any side effects).
On the subject of dangerous plants, I managed to get some euphorbia sap onto my gardening glove today and a few minutes later rubbed my eye without thinking. Ouch!! A very quick dash to the water tap, hopefully haven't done any lasting damage but it did sting a lot.

by Marb67I have just given it a real pruning before it comes into leaf in the hope of getting some regeneration and the tree not having to work as hard getting water and nutrients higher up. If this doesn't work I'll replace it next year with something else.
