    There is an area of the Pacific Ocean three times the size of France called the Great Pacific Garbage Patch, that contains over 100 million kilos of floating plastic waste.

    I think what these guys are doing is amazing.

        Wow! What a good job they're doing. I remember reading something about them years ago, when they were still at the proof of concept stage. Thanks for sharing that MH. Good to see it works so well. That said, you'd think governments or the UN Environment Programme would be pouring money into this to get it done faster.

          I always thought it would never happen until the value of the recovered material was more than the cost of the ships and crew wages.
          It also needs to be gathered rapidly before limpets populate it as there limestone content will contaminate the recovered material.
