Oh well, it was nice knowing you Snadger...
I was feeling part of the scenery
I walked right out of the machinery
My heart going boom boom boom
"Hey" he said "Grab your things
I've come to take you home."

I think it looks rather fetching.........rather like Carribean headware.

To be honest, I'm sick of bringing stuff home to be put to one side and used when it's been out of the ground as long as Tesco's foostuff........

This way it can be cut seconds before it's cooked.

Spring Cabbage in pots are deffo being grown in the greenhouse overwinter this year as well! A successful experiment (and a lovely foliage pot plant!)

I think we should run a 'what you can grow in your greenhouse over winter' experiment....we were just talking about this today.

Yes, this would be great for us all to try as overwinter experiment.

Can you start this off as a thread with - how/when to instructions Snadger, would look forward to this :-)

Well I'd be chuffed if you gave it to me! It's very pretty AND you can eat it. What more can you want?

I begged the pots from a caterer last year! The 'pot' had a jalapeno pepper in it last year and before that was filled with mayonaise I think!. I tipped the compost out when the jally was finished to de-compact it and refilled the pot with the same compost. When I was transplanting my Spring Cabbage into the beds outdoors I planted some spring cabbage, winter cabbage, toscana kale and Russian red kale plus PSB into ALL the pots vacated by the toms and peppers.
My greenhouse has been a sea of green all winter.
I also have pot grown autumn shallots and shall try some other stuff this year.
Whats the point in your poor veg freezing there nads off outdoors when there's an empty greenhouse going begging throughout the winter? They are protected from wind damage, predation from animals and are in a controlled growing enviroment.
Because it's winter they don't need watering much (wouldn't fancy tring to grow cabbage indoors in summer!)

It's a case of making the fullest use of any resources you have available!

                            Beautiful and practical, Snadger.

That's the great thing about growing vegetables - they're good to look at , in the garden or on the table.
