    Twang's Chillis 2009

    Hi everyone, I love growing chillis and I always keep a close record of my progress on various forums. Here are a few pics of my plants this year, I planted 2 batches. One in November, 250 plants, and the second in January, 150 plants. 200 varieties in total, all have been started indoors under growlights in a controlled enviroment and some gradually moved into a greenhouse...

    Here are some of my favourites...

    Pink Habanero - C. Chinense

    Cili Goronong - C. Chinense

    Purple and yellow flower, Ulupica - C. Cardenasii

    Cumari Pollux - C. Praetermissum

        Twang, I've moved your thread onto the Showcase thread, as Vegging Out is more for asking for advice etc.

          Some interesting chillies there twang. Looking good.

            Thanks SarzWix. and yes i'll certainly be swapping seeds, im sure i'll have plenty to offer. I will begin to isolate flowers very soon.

                Must say, I am a little envious - my chilli growing operations were a bit hampered this year by a combination of breaking an ankle right at the wrong moment, and our 2 (lucky to still be alive ) kittens who got into the propagaors and wrecked my first sowings! So we're a bit late, and some of my 'precious' varieties I ran out of seeds for...
                Never mind, there's always next year

                  It is a shame I didnt join this forum sooner. I did have hundreds of plants in small pots that I could post. I had a go at selling them on ebay but they've got too big now. I would have been more than happy to send you some for free. I may take some cutting for you as I can have them well rooted in a few weeks.

                      Wow, your plants are so big and healthy. Mine look like your january shots - will they catch up? they are in unheated GH, and a couple on sunny windowsil.

                          They will catch up in no time, I did start mine very early. Chillis continue to fruit until September in a GH and all winter if you bring them in.

                            Most species propagate easily from cuttings, Im now off to work but ill give a few tips when I get back.

                              Thanks for the pictures - I love them but the old chilli envy surfaces again.

                              Mine are tiny but they're healthy looking so I guess it's a matter of waiting.

                              Would love to hear about the cuttings and please keep updating this thread - I'd love to see the plants as they progress even more as time goes along.
