  • Organising a Potato Day?

I'm vaguely contemplating organising a potato day and seed swap at the school I help at next year. Has anybody done this? Am I mad? What do I need to know?

You will need to know your spuds so that you can give top advice to the public

Your not mad. Look at me I am totally normal and I have worked with potatoes for years.

Never done it Sarz, but I'm sure you'll make it a great success, but I do think you're a little mad chuck

Thanks Iain So, I have to put the plan to the school (sure they won't object), decide on a date, do a survey of the most popular varieties, organise some publicity, and get the PTA on the job organising refreshments... Owt else?

ETA: Tattieman, if we ran out of anything, would we be able to take orders at the event?

You could take pre-orders and then make sure everything gets sold.

As long as I still had stock then yes you could take orders on the day but I think most people would just like to take what you have on the day.
