  • New to gardening, and new to country life

    G'day all!
Yet another newbie around the boards
I'm an Aussie, married to a Pom, I've lived in the UK for 3 years now but we've been city slickers until now.
Last month we moved to the other side of the country and now live in a gorgeous house in the country, we've got a massive garden and have just begun the mammoth task of clearing it all! (Will post soon for help on that in another area!)
Have planted a small herb bed, strawb bed, and yesterday we planted a tiny veg patch. Lots more work to do though!
Getting chickens soon, and I have high hopes for bees if I can convince hubby to allow them!
Anyway, just wanted to say hi, I've been trawling the boards for info and you seem like a really friendly bunch, hope to get to know you all a lot better!

    Cheers

Not only do you get some good advice on here but we also have a laugh!
The greatness comes not when things go always good for you,but the greatness comes when you are really tested, when you take, some knocks, some disappointments;because only if youv'e been in the deepest valley can you ever know how magnificent it is to be on the highest mountain.

          Thanks for the welcomes!
Have posted a new thread here with some photos of what I have managed so far and begging for some advice on how to tackle the rest of the weeds - already strimmed them down, just don't know how to exterminate the buggers

          Cheers!!
