  • What are these little monsters?

I just moved one of my little tomato plant seedling pots I have on my windowsill to see whether the roots have hit the bottom of the pot yet and noticed these little white bugs. Initially they looked like tiny maggots but they appear to have legs and can jump around a bit. They didn't like being uncovered - started wriggling and jumping around a lot! I noticed they are also under the pot in the saucer under my two indoor chilli plants.

Haven't checked my chilli plants in the greenhouse yet but fear they may also be infected.

Does anybody know what these are, are they harmful and if so how do I get rid of them? I looked at some pictures of thrips and fungus gnat larve on google but these don't seem to look like either of those unless they are thrips larve?

Doesn't look good - bit more research these do look like thrip larve.

    Has anyone used these:

Are they the same bug that's in the compost?

Too tiny to tell, I'm presuming these are more Jr siblings. I noticed the rash on the top of the leaves weeks ago but didn't notice any pests on the underside.

I have ordered some Amblyseius to release in my greenhouse. Perhaps I should try a mild soap spray on the indoor ones as an experiment? I read somewhere that a boiling up some elderberry bush leaves can produce a useful natural pesticide?
