Hi
I use a Chuxaway and have had no problems with it. The instructions suggest mounting the timer box inside the coop as it is not weather proof (unlike the motor). I found it more convenient to mount the timer box outside above the pop hole and have mounted mine inside a large 'Tupperware' type box to weather proof it. The installation leaflet you get with it is very clear and comprehensive (with photos). Hope this helps -
Thanks for the tip about the tupperware, its good to gain feedback. Had a VSB one but its been at the suppliers for near on 7 weeks, only just got it back, so i'm looking for an alternative.Originally posted by SteevK View PostComment

Thanks for the heads-up. I have two VSBi openers and have had no probs (as long as I've weighted my doors), but useful to know there are alternatives.

Well, I collected a lot of apples fallen in Autumn that were perfectly fine. Stored in the shed on wooden racks with plenty of air able to get between them. So why atlre they now staring to go over by rorring or the whole apple going brown and soft. Gutted as I had enough to see me into next year.
