I always wonder where the names come from. It never occurred to me when I logged on to use a nickname (not that I have one really - I'm not the outgoing sort to get one) - I do wonder about pigletwillie though!

I too have pictures of everyone in my mind and like Jaxom - they are all young and beautiful! Hope you think the same about me I'll not post a picture or I'll destroy the image

Jennie, I see you as having long curly blond hair that has been piled up on the top of your head. Why I get that image I don't know?

Lesley shattered my illusion when she used an expletive, well several actually, (allbeit in asteriks).

I think the term 'Grapes' is spot on.....one big bunch!

Ah Shortie, that was in a different life. I used to be very dark haired, slight of build and medium height. Now i am still dark haired (out of a bottle) now medium built and getting to be a little less than medium height. ah, what that awful thing called time can do to us ,but in my mind i am still that same young person, and yes, i too was a child bride Lesley Jay.

B****y hell Jaxom - never had fair hair other than via a bottle and the last time it was curled up on top of my head was about 35 years ago. Curls - its dead straight !

Really I'm a vertically challenged 50 something trying to hang on to a 70s image (so my sons tell me!)

Just wanted to say I really miss you lot when I've been away. Missed a few days last week and had to catch up with over a 100 posts. Great! OH thinks I've got fancy man - doesn't believe me when I say I am picking up gardening tips!
My OH is the same, if I mention anything to do with the gardening he says:- 'Oh been chatting to Rat, Shortie, Nick & your other 'mates' have you?' in a jealous sarcastic tone! Doesn't know half of the people on the vine are women & he knows nothing about gardening so it's the only place I can discuss the important things in life! I'll just keep him guessing & thinking I'm on some dating website.

SueA, if it eases the mind at all for the OH, I'm female (I would say a lady, but I don't deserve that title! )

                              I Love It Here

Going back to Jax's origonal post...

I love it here. It's the first forum I've ever joined and am really pleased how lovely a place it is. I can often chuckle reading the posts and certainly pick up some very good tips!

I was nosing around a few nights ago at some posts from back in Sept/Oct last year (before I'd joined) and regretting not knowing some of the names who posted, and wonder if they ever pop in any more? But then the beauty is that new people seem to be joining each day now, and it's lovely to meet more new like-minded people who seem to have the same sense of humour.

I feel like I have a growing group of friends (whom I don't know by appearance, but that's half the fun)

Thats very true shortie. It's like having a gardening club that you can go to 24/7 as they say. & it's free - Winner !!!!

We'll have to have a get together at one of the gardening events. We could all walk round with a plastic dafodill or better still plastic bunch of grapes in our lapels so we'd know we were Vine members
