My gardening guru has failed to furnish me with the necessary information to enable me the knowhow to grow peanuts. But to be fair he struggles with recognising weeds and I am in danger of being fed weed and hemlock soup instead of curried carrot soup.
In my quest to extend my soup repartoire from home grown produce, by way of spicey peanut soup and of course supply badgers with a late night nibbles;does anyone know how to grow and nurture these cheeky little fellows? And how successful was the outcome of those that have attempted?

i dug up a load this year, squirrel uses my garden for burying them, quite a few had germinated, so i put them back in the soil then promptly forgot about where i'd buried them ....... didn't notice anything remotely peanut looking growing after that ...... sorry that wasn't much help was it ....... i think maybe they don't like moving lol

I haven't tried it yet, but I bookmarked this page a while ago because I wanted to.

Looks easy enough and I picked up a bag of monkey nuts this weekend, so I'll try not to eat them all and save a few to plant next spring.

There's a section in Kim Wilde's Gardening with Children book....unfortunately I've finally taken it back(prob could have bought it with overdue fines!).But I'm sure she said they're quite easy.

They are easy to germinate ... but we don't don't have the right weather to get a good crop ... you won't be self-sufficient in peanuts any time soon
