  • I love my polytunnel

No real reason to post but just wanted to say how impressed I have been with my polytunnel in only it's first year. Managed to get it put up by about early March and immediately planted out some early potatoes, carrots, peas and mange tout and am now harvesting all of them, way before the ones outside. The piccie is out of date as there are now tomatoes, chillies, peppers, aubergines, cucumbers, melons and sweet potatoes in the empty beds but you get the idea.

You can just about see the orange taps of the gravity watering system at the sides of the beds and the hose running round the tunnel, there is then soaker hose under each bed, all run off water butts on the side of the tunnel. Seems to be working well so far although the lack of rain is a worry.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

Actually I love mine too, especially on rainy days when you can go in an potter around.

Or on a cold winter day when working in the garden and sit inside it having a coffee break.
I am sure there are many of us who love our polytunnels.

It's a thing of beauty! I'm just about to harvest my first baby orange peppers and made chilli con carne with my own cayennes last week. Don't know how I managed without one!
