    I think that's the one that sells for over £100 in my local garden centre, but I'd class it as a blow away polytunnel. That's if it's the same one. It looks like it. Isn't it the same one Ancee has just bought and posted about in the I've just bought a polytunnel thread? Maybe best asking her if it's the same.

      Cheers VVG, obviously it would be as blowaway as I allowed. It's a confidence thing with me & am not sure it would be money well spent.

        I paid almost £600 10 years ago for a 25ft x 10ft tunnel with all the extras. I can grow onions inside 4 x the size of the onions grown outside. I have no idea how you would get on with that un though .

          Frame looks a lot better than those things usually are. The cover won't last more than 2 seasons though, the plastic drops out in between the green squares. So if you're prepared to have to replace the cover, it's probably worth it?

            Is it tall enough for you, BM?
            How would it fit on your raised beds?
            If you lose the cover it would still make a good frame for netting - perhaps?

              Thanks Ap & Sarz...........It would span halfway across 2 of my 4' beds perfectly which already have a 2'6" path down the middle plus I like the 2 door idea.......will have to give it some thought.

                VC - I would use half a bed for the tunnel & half for outside growing............spanning across 2 beds. If that makes sense.

                  Yes, it makes sense, so that would give you more head room but the doors will not reach the ground over the path - yes?
                  How much actual growing space would you have - about 2' each side of the path?

                    We had a blow away on our plot, but we are not sheltered there at all, so kind of expected it. The cover came with guy ropes - next to useless tbh - Mr VVG did peg it all done - screws/batons/etc. The frame did stay put but the damned cover was always going AWOL.

                    Don't second hand polytunnels ever come up on eBay? I don't know as I've never looked. You know the ones in the magazines/on allotments? £60 might buy a galvanized greenhouse off there or is it a poly you're really after?

                      If the cover disappeared or disintegrated the frame looks sturdy enough to take anti-hot-spot tape and a proper polythene cover. You'd have to trench it (the cover) and build timber door frames at each end, but it's doable. Think jackyspratty might have done that with one?

                        Although that's galvanized it's still only 19mm - my 19mm one (ungalvanized) buckled in strong wind.
                        Super Strong 19mm galvanized anti rust steel pole with 0.8mm thickness;
                        Does the galvanizing make it stronger?
                        Also agree about the cover only lasting 2 years before they develop a built in rainwatering system

                          Thanks, you are all giving me food for thought, VC - Yes it would give me a 2' wide growing bed down each side, Sarz - Great minds think alike as I was think about timber door frames as I don't like the idea of them flapping about. I was thinking of getting a couple more scaffold boards and running them lengthwise down the bed then across to the tunnel & attaching extra ropes over the top as VVG suggested, I may have a chat with Donna Sarz. I've only been thinking about it for a hour or so but it's doable. One concern - would it cast a shadow on the rest of the bed as it would be north-south lengthwise.

                            Yes, probably, but you could grow leafy stuff in it which doesn't mind shade - brassicas, salad, spinach, chard etc? And it would only be in shade for half of the day?
