What sort of containers/pots will I need to grow Marrows and Pumpkins? I have a few big pots but they arn't very wide by are more tall. Im guessing with the leaves that spread out I will need a wide pot if so what sort of size will I need?

Hi deltz, I'm growing my marrow (long green bush) in my compost bin this year with lots of crushed egg shell round it, hopefully this will stop it from being eaten by slug's/snails, I grow courgettes and small bush squash in containers, you'll need one that's big enough for the roots, but remember they do like to sprawl around so you don't want one that's too tall, personally I'd try to find one that's about 1 foot deep by 18" across. Hope that helps you.

Why don't you nip into Morrisons and grab 8 flower buckets for 99p? They will need holes punching in the bottom for a bit of drainage (and I put a layer of broken bits of polystyrene at the bottom of my pots too).Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

Freaya my local Morrisons is just a small one - they sometimes have them in store in the flower department under one of the display stand, taped up in stacks of 8.
What I'd really like to get my hands on is a stack of the square deep ones used at my local Tescos!!Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

I've done this before, at our old house where I only had container gardening. My best results came from Jack O Lantern types/similar, one per large pot, and trained over an arch.
They're greedy and thirsty too. You can do it though!I don't roll on Shabbos
