  • Making up Bordeaux Mixture

    Can anyone help?

I've got some bordeaux mix and according to the bottle you mix 35g of the powder with 1.5ltrs of water for using on Potatoes/Toms etc. The trouble is it doesn't come with a measure.

How much is 35g all my other measures are in ml!!! Is it a teaspoon, desert spoon? Does anyone out there know!!!??

    Thanks in advance

Do you have kitchen scales? You could weigh it on that.

Not sure how dense bordeaux mix is, but a tablespoon of salt is about 25g.

I might be a proper nerd and work it out later; what is again copper sulphate and lime? anyone know the proportions?

About 6 teaspoons. Mix it in another container and decant it to the spray bottle as it can be a little lumpy at the bottom and block the sprayer.

Where the application rate of fertiliser/grass seed etc calls for 35g per square metre...........it's a small handful to the square metre/yard!
