I picked a few chives to add to a sandwich - pretty exciting as it's the first pick of the year!

It was meant tongue in cheek for the very reason you mentioned Muddled

Is this stuff that's just been newly planted thus year? Or stuff that's been in the ground overwinter?

            I've picked leeks?

If its the first of the crop, it counts.

That's about all Neil and I can pick at the moment!!! This never-ending 'orrible cold grey weather is driving me nuts!!! It's probably because, for the first time ever, I've actually got somewhere to grow stuff and I'm just itching to get stuck in!!! No doubt, come a months' time, I'll be saying there's not enough hours in the day!!!

Nothing as of yet but I'm waiting and waiting to pick my purple sprouting broccoli that has been in the ground since last summer. I can see the "spears" starting to grow though. Still going to be another month - month and a half I reckon until I can pick them. We need some sun. It's been dull and cloudy for what seems like ages here now.
