I'm trying to be organised with seed sowing - in particular repeat sowings for continuity of cropping.
As you'll know by now, I'm not very organised, can't take gardening too seriously and want it to be fun - a little game/challenge
I'd appreciate your views on my latest nutty idea please!!
Operate a 4 week cycle for sowing seeds, based loosely around the main parts that are eaten.
Week 1 = Roots (eg carrots, turnip, radish, potatoes, fish etc)
Week 2 = Shoots + stalks/stems (eg onions leeks, all alliums, all oriental veg, celery, rhubarb)
Week 3 = Fruits (eg tomatoes, squashes, beans & peas)
Week 4 = Leaves (brassicas, incl caulis and broccoli, lettuce, salad leaves)
Flowers are sown on Friday
Then repeat, every 4 weeks for 13 cycles a year. Obviously, not all items can be sown year round like tomatoes but it might focus my mind (for a week) on what could be sown in that group.
Good idea ............or crazy?
