  • Cabbage White - on my radishes

I've netted* all my cabbages, so the little butterflies have laid their eggs on my radishes instead!
They're teeming with (Large White butterfly ) caterpillars. They'll be compost/bird food by sun-down

    * the netting was working, until these gales blew them apart while I was on my week's hols. I took nets off to weed, and there's a dozen Small White caterpillars & also Cabbage Looper & Cabbage Moth caterpillars on each plant. That's four different sorts of cabbage caterpillars! Very well disguised too, the same colour as the leaf.

      Yes, they are.
The radishes have had all their leaves stripped, and the caterpillars have eaten the charlock (wild mustard) too (which is a good thing, as it's a huge nuisance). Charlock - Weed information - Organic Weed Management
