Been a busy fortnight since last post
Half the plot is now dug over - the rest will be done soon - have cleared most of the veggie patch at home - loads more to do
Have been harvesting veggies at home and sowing etc for planting stuff out over the winter
Still got broad beans and 2 varieties of peas to sow for overwintering - and then of course still got to plant them out, along with all the other stuff growing in the greenhouse
Another plotholder offered us some strawberry runners - she gave us about 40, said we can have plenty more - we gave her some raspberry canes - she reckons she got about 1 pound of strawberries from every 3 plants, so we should get a few pounds of strawberries next year - with the raspberries, gooseberries, plums, apples, pears and rhubarb, that should mean lots of jams, pies, crumbles etc
Have picked up a load of slabs from freecycle to use as a shed base - have been cutting the timber for the shed, nowhere near enough timber, but have a source of plenty more floorboards, so should be ok
Have also picked up a load of flower pots, tubs, window boxes, and a cold frame from freecycle
Have also made a start on the wine and cider - have 4 buckets of apples so far - have chopped one bucket up and they'll be pressed at the weekend - will chop and press more when i get a chance - hoping to get 12 bottles of white wine and a few bottles of cider ......
