I have seen them in supermarkets they are the large hard plums that are to me not very good, but so are apricots unless they are just off the tree
and just in case they are a cross between plums and apricots, mostly plum
apriums are mostly apricot and a little plum crossed about 100 years ago

Hello Kier and welcome to the Grapevine. Lots of us are alive on here - you'll be pleased to hear.
A quick search for Pluot in the search box brings up lots of threads - here's one to start you off.

I only heard of both types the other day when I was looking at Blackmoor nursery's web page. Never seen one though but I wouldn't necessarily believe the supermarket taste test as I've had loads of horrible plums from there in the past whereas a nice plum is delicious. Sorry not much help.
Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.
Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

I've bought one this year, interested to see if it lives up to the hype. Ask me again in a few years when it has started fruiting?
I also bought an Aprium ...

Purchased 1 from Blackmoor last year, it is growing as quick as my bank balance is dwindling.
Might have some fruit to try this year, but as this is only its 3rd year on the planet earth, I am not expecting too much.
Note:-I purchased a gage at the same time, it is twice the size of the gage, and the gage is good and healthy.Feed the soil, not the plants.

At least that is how the forum links appear on my iPad, I assume they are universal.Posted on an iPad so apologies for any randomly auto-corrected gobbledegook
