I just bought some 7ft canes and some Figo connectors, see how I go on with them. Although I like the look of the Gardman one on Amazon...
I just thought I would flick a few up and give a few choices. I wouldn't put anything fancy on the allotment as we are open, no security or anything. The PC are even being pedantic about wooden frames now but if at home I wouldn't mind splurging if I could. The bamboos work fine for me and it's what I use every year, just now they are attached to my parallel bars - wheeeeeee

Ours are just A frames made by tying 8ft canes together with garden string, using a 6ft cane at the top and another one about 5 ft up sort of "woven" in to give it a bit of rigidity. By woven, i mean alyernatively over and under the frames, then tied on, again using some string.
They have stood up to fairly high winds so far, as been up for 6 to 8 weeks, as I wanted to mark out the space.
