I only grew two plants last year. Cloched them up until the end of May and had lots though not enough for a family of 5. Handy tip I always swear by is to find some well rotted manure and dig it in just under where the courgette is going, they love it Then heap soil on top to make a small dome, put the plant on top.

Last year I grew one green and one yellow. Had a couple of courgettes from each plant every other day. The green one wasn't as prolific as the yellow one and I discovered why when I hacked down my sweetcorn, the green one was growing a marrow it was massive!
This year I have four courgette plants, plus I've sown another one as an experiment to sowing early and late.
I've got a plan to sneak into my dads garden one day and plant one of the excess courgettes

I'm growing Courgettes for the first time this year. Have 8 plants on the go in the greenhouse at the moment and i'm planning on interplanting them with my sweetcorn. I was thinking along the lines of below with spacings of 42cm across and 48cm up and down. Will this be enough space for them both and is my layout a good one?
