  • which is which?!?

Can anyone help? I have been growing, for the first time from seed, some tomato plants. I bought moneymaker and gardeners delight. However in the first stages, one of my house mates removed my stickers telling me which is which! The only thing that tells them apart, from my untrained eye, is that one has red veins on the underside and one white but which is which??

Pat, they are both outdoor varieties, feed them weakly and pot on, hope for a good summer and when we get some decent weather harden them off (outside during the day and back inside at night), plant in a sheltered but sunny position in a good sized hole with lots of manure in the bottom; challenge your house mate to a duel; and kill him! use his rotting remains to feed your babies and enjoy some tasty toms.................... only kidding about the duel, kill him anyway you can without using plant damaging chemicals...... good luck
Eat well, live well, drink moderately and be happy (hic!)

Hello, SS, and welcome to the Madhouse.

I'm not able to answer your question, sorry. Hopefully someone with more knowledge than me will be along soon.

Whether you choose to take OB's advice is up to you!

Luckily they are both indeterminate (cordon) varieties, so it really doesn't matter which is which.

Well I've just been for an inspection of my tomato plants which are gardeners delight, and there is no sign of any red veins on them so hopfully that helps a little.

Does your housemate like tomatoes? I'm sure you can get them back by either withholding or forcefeeding the resulting crop

Luckily they both need the same treatment. Grow them on until they have ripe fruit; moneymaker has bigger tomatoes on it.

              No need to thank me

From my recollection .....the GD's would have the darker, reddish leaves between the 2 you've mentioned......
