Rabbit Bedding on Strawberries

It is ok to put used rabbit bedding straw on my strawberries? I thought it would have double benefit - protection and manure but my neighbour says the urine may be detrimental. Any advice welcome please.

Personally I wouldn't. Add it to your compost heap instead.

I've used guinea pig bedding as a direct mulch before: never again, it's full of weed seeds (but then, mine are fed on real food, not pellets)

Compost it, to be safe.

You don't need straw under strawberries. The idea is to protect the fruit from mud splashes
