If it's heavy as everyone has stated, would mixing it with vermiculite help?........Just a suggestion.
I'm planning to dress some sand into the veg plot, and thought about using the John Innes for the pots and tubs I'll be planting out into once the seedlings are ready fir going out. Does this sound like a reasonable idea to everyone? ...
Just to add to all the helpful comments this is the feedback we had on our seed compost from Alys Fowler:
"I'm in love with the seed compost. It's a very fine mix, light and with lots of air, so ideal for germination of trickier stuff. I found I got very strong, steady growth in the seedlings and that they transplanted exceptionally well. I am starting to trial the GroChar soil improver in my own homemade potting compost, so far, so good. It's a very economical way if you make your own mixes, to benefit from all the good stuff biochar brings to the soil."
