I saw there is already a post but since I am in a different area I thought I would post separately in case anyone is in Scotland and has any ideas
I'm doing a raised bed along the length of my back garden. Will be planting some Veg I think and probably some flowers. Not sure which yet. But I'm making it fairly deep - my dog and the dog next door are always yapping at each other so this raised bed will be between our garden and theirs to hopefully stop the yapping. I'm going with log roll - probably not the best I know but I'm on a pretty tight budget. I found some good 18" log roll with a anti-rot gaurentee for 12 years... I'm hoping it will be good enough (please don't tell my I'm crazy!). It wont be full to the top obviously! That would just give my dog a step into next door haha. So anyway I'm going to need to fill it with soil obviously. Having a look around I'm seeing £80 a "Bulk Bag" is this normal? Seems a little pricey to me. I would be much happier with around half of that. I know you get what you pay for. But I am an amateur and I really don't want to spend a fortune. I would rather go with cheaper stuff this year to get me started at least and maybe next year I will be in a better position to pay more and get some very good fertilizers or what not.
So anyone know any Top Soil Suppliers in or around Aberdeen? I'm just south of the city.
