  • New turf cuttings - suitable to compost or not?

Have laid 20 rolls of new turf. Bought from b&q so cannot get any info on the use of weed and feed on it.
Anyone could give advice if the cutting from it safe to compost or best to bin them?

How much have you got left over?

I certainly wouldn't bin it, but I would stack separately rather than add to the general compost heap.

I would stack it on it's own, upside down, and plant a squash in it. If it's had weed and feed, the squash leaves will curl and buckle. If that happens it will take a while to get out of the system. So you can decide then whether it is worth composting or not.

        Stack on it's own.

If you have a weedy corner you're not bothered about then slap it on that and the worms will start taking it in. If it kills the weeds then it's an advantage. If it feeds them - then make sure it's on deep enough to mulch them out.
