Hi MM - yep, it's looking rather delish already! Do you think we can eat the blackberries when the whiskey is ready? Eeeh, by gum! you could probably only eat a couple before getting drunk! dexterdogBernie aka DDL

hi NTTP - no I dont think it does.....why use special, aged whiskey? I used Morrisons own brand (no reflectionon the quality) but why pay more for an aged one when you are going to add your own flavours? Mine is looking grand (as you can probably tell from my past messages!). Do let everyone know how you get on - espesh at Christmas! dexterdogBernie aka DDL

You think like me new2
I like quality control too
(think of hangovers etc!!!)
Seems to make little difference in my experience, but for some snobbish reason,,,,just can't buy the really cheap spirits...may be something to do with student days and daily reflux tablets that middle age has introduced me to!!
Like me you clearly want these experiments to succeed...go for middle range stuff unless someone else has been brave enough to to a quality control trial!!!"Nicos, Queen of Gooooogle" and... GYO's own Miss Marple

Hi MM couldnt resist another little shake this afternoon - each of the blackberries looks like a tiny bunch of grapes! Have you seen the thread about blackberry ice cream? we could use our blackberries for that when the whiskey is ready. dexterdogBernie aka DDL

Oooh ice cream! (drool, slaver, dribble) Will have to look that post up methinks.
Both my whisky and vodka look the most amazing colour. I don't think I can wait till Christmas which is lucky cause this weekend I did another lot of vodka with lemon verbena...the post is somewhere around here. Smells to die for and best of all I only have to wait a month.
Mind you chomping on the leaves won't be the same as slurping down those blackberries!!

Well I thought I'd post an update....rather than start work just yet.
So....Blackberry whisky and vodka progressing well. Been about a month & 1/2 now so the same again and I will finally be able to see if it tastes as good as it looks.
The lemon verbena vodka has another two weeks to go. Added the sugar this weekend just gone which was a week late but don't think it'll matter. It looks and smells fantastic and has gone a lovely pale greeny colour.
Also tried out the toffee vodka on sunday. Only took an hour or so for the toffee to 'melt'. Much better for those of insatiable curiosity like me cause you can taste it almost straight away.
Very, very nice. Expected it to be sweeter but was unprepared for the 'taste' of toffee as you exhale afterwards. Kinda like breathing toffee.
So there you go. Sorry for blabing on but I had to share with some one. At home peoples eyes glaze over....they just don't understand!!!
