Whats the difference between sodastream & soda syphons?

You can squirt people with a soda syphon

Best Whip - The International Soda & Whipped Cream equipment company.

(Edit - lol! just seen the company's name & url address - the link is 'work safe'!!! )
A soda syphon you add the gas as you dispense the drink, and one fill uses one gas bulb.
Sodastream you add gas to water in bottles, and can store the bottles for later use. One cylinder does quite-a-lot of bottles. For those who want a drink to take with them (for a packed lunch etc) the sodastream is viable, and the syphon isn't.

I like water fizzy, and sometimes I use it to dilute things (not just squash). The ones I like certainly don't taste 'chemical' (although I have encountered some that do, and they are horrible). If you prefer tap water (plain or filtered) there is no reason you can't refill a bottle that way, rather than always buying for each journey.

            expensive water

Hi ! lynda66, Have to admit that I am not too keen on the stronger tasting bottled waters. They are supposed to taste of dissolved minerals which I suppose they do. I prefer my water through chalk, chilled and flat.

Rhona, I would suggest that your level of consumption of any carbonated drinks, even water will cause you gastric problems. Carbonated water is acidic (carbonic acid) plus the gas can be a problem !!!!

I have seen numerous references to it as a health problem so I will post a link.

I have looked on the web and it is/should be a worry. Google, excess carbonated drinks. Ignore the obvious 'sugar in Coke' and look at the acid excess !!!!!!

              excess carbonated drinks !!!!!!

They can thin your teeth. They can upset the internal system to the point that the stomach senses excess acid and brings in alkali (calcium) from the bones to balance it. They have been refered to as 'osteoporosis in a glass' Not a good idea, stick to wine.
