    Sounds great Vince!
That too made me chuckle Never heard of that before, but that’s reassuring!

Talking about your cider-making to my OH he decided to convert some of our pasteurised apple juice into cider . We’re not really fruit drinkers so have had a few bottles of our own juice knocking around from a previous community pressing.
We have a demijon full now bubbling away
Obviously being pasturised we won’t get that interesting smell!

    Exciting times Vince!

Good luck Nicos. A while since I've had Normandy cider but recall it being quite delicate, both light in colour and flavour. Hope that's how yours turns out.

Just an (overdue) update. 25th October, I siphoned the cider off the muck at the bottom of the fermenter and put it into a clean fermenter for storage. I decided to add the litre of pure apple juice to sharpen it up a bit and the ABV at that point was pretty much spot on 6%. I have moved it to the cold garage for the winter, then in the spring once the utility room is warm enough I'll move it back indoors to see if I can get a small secondary fermentation. Still quite cloudy but it should drop clearer a little over the winter, but anyway no harm in cloudy cider.

I never got to taste OH’s cider…he and his friend polished off all but one bottle….which he’s now hidden until Spring.

Well done with yours Vince…most impressed! How you can wait though ….
