  • Wine help

    hi
i hope someone can help. I once saw an article on making wine from all kinds of weird and wonderful things, but in particular from a bottle of ribena. Does anyone have any info on this eg recipe/instructions because I would love to try it. I am very new to wine making (as you've probably guessed) and any help/tips/info would be greatly appreciated.

    Recipe from here:

Ribena recipe - Allotment and Vegetable Gardening

    Ribena Wine

1 bottle of original Ribena (not artificially sweetened must be 'Original').
1 teaspoon of citric acid or juice from one lemon.
    1 sachet of winemaking yeast.
    1 teaspoon of yeast nutrient.
    1 1/2 lbs of sugar.

    Method

Empty bottle of Ribena into glass one gallon demijon (sterilised).
Top up to the shoulder of the demijon with cold boiled water.
Add sugar, Yeast, citric acid, yeast nutrient.
    Fit airlock shake and leave.
Takes about 2-3 months depending on room temperature.
Some people boil the Ribena for a few minutes but I’ve never bothered and have never had any problems.

Can I suggest you lay off the Ribena wine for a bit, it's playing havoc with your wording!

If only I did have some Ribena wine to blame it on, sadly that was a cut and paste error.
