  • Ale fermented in 2 days!!!!!

I have made a batch each of Honey Ale and Cherry Ale, both of them were fermenting with a lovely foam but it has stopped after two days!!

Is this right, or is something amiss as I suspect, do I need to feed it???

    Help!

    stopped or finished

Hi ! Although this is a bit quick it depends how much sugar you added, I would not have expected anything to stop this quick.
You could taste it, is it dry = finished.
You could use a hydrometer, below 1.00 = finished.
I would go by the taste and if it is clearing.
    Was it under airlock ??

I doubt very much if it's finished yet. Things are always a bit frothy to start with, and then settle down to a more gentle fermentation. What does your hydrometer say?

Deffo time to use your hydrometer. That would indeed be a very fast ferment though!

I doubt you will have any alcohol in that space of time, even the whisky distillers brew their's for 5 days before distilling and that's in a computer controlled environment.
