runner bean wine ?? of course you can !!

The thing is it will not have much body as a wine so it would benefit from addittions.
You could add apples, pears, plums, blackberries or grapes

Would also need nutrients, like lemon and half a cup of black tea. Need to cook the beans add the fruit and sugar/yeast then ferment.

Let us know how it turns out, now you mention it I may try bean and apple.

... so I'd argue it's hardly runner bean wine. You could as well call it mixed fruit wine with added bean?

Therefore what is the point of adding runner beans?

              runner bean wine is great

Your adding ingredients to the beans which you already have in profusion at this time of year.

They will flavour the wine but as I tried to explain will not add body so they would make a thin wine.

Use your spare produce to make as much wine as you have containers to brew and store in.

You could even make a stock thin wine with the runners then blend it with other wines you find too heavy such as blackberry or honey.

Do you get the idea now

Bananas are good for adding body, or chopped raisins. The lemon is for acidity, and the tea for tannin. These things need to be added to lots of 'country' wines, whereas they are naturally present in grapes.
The best blackberry wine we ever made had banana added to it, and a few handfuls of elderberries for tannin.

I might have to have a go at the runner bean wine, I'm inundated with them and my whole family seem to have gone off them...

Bananas also help a wine to clear.
I still think vegetable wines are a waste of veg!

                    beans beans beans

That can be one of the problems of runner beans. They are lovely to begin with then after the 40-60th meal you wonder if there is something else you could do with them.

I have bean-get it- freezing mine for those no fresh bean moments.

But as you can brew with them this allows you to make a base wine either to drink as it is or to mix with heavier wines.
It would go well with honey (mead) wine.
