air locks for wine

Hi can anyone recommend a good site for buying airlocks for demijohns. Used to get them from Wilkos but not one near us now. Have looked on ebay and by the time you pay postage they seem very expensive. Any ideas? Thanks

Hi,

A cheap alternative is to use a balloon (with a few pin pricks). The balloon expands letting air out but not in.

Have you tried "collection only" and searching by distance...if your lucky someone in your area will selling off some bits reasonable?

What a brilliant idea, does it work have you tried it. I have some ballons left from my Grandson birthday and I was wondering what to do with them

Its mentioned in a few wine making books.
I've used it and it works fine.

Have you a "Home Hardware"(franchise) shop?, they usually have some winemaking kit.
