amazon is a good place to browse, because the books have reviews with them.
I've got this one: A Step by Step Guide to Making Homemade Wine: Amazon.co.uk: Judith Irwin: Books
It's much easier to understand than CJJ BerryLast edited by Two_Sheds; 15-04-2010, 06:44 PM.All gardeners know better than other gardeners." -- Chinese Proverb.

Try your local library & charity shops for books, note that a lot of recipes, especially on the internet, are very dodgy, try running recipes through my beer & wine calculator from the YoBrew site, it will help show up any obvious faults in a recipe & also help you to create your own recipe. There is lots of other usefull stuff on there to. Also try petespintpot for more recipes & information.

I started with this book : The Alaskan Bootlegger's Bible - Its "american" but very basic, not really using chemicals. I also have CJJ Berry which i fine very useful.

Easiest wine ever,
1ltr white grape juice
1ltr apple juice
700g sugar
1 tsp yeast nutrient
1 x 5g sachet champagne yeast
water to 7 pts, top up to 8pts after 3 days
this is almost foolproof, it will clear itself and the apple/cider smell goes after a while, it will ferment to dry in as little as 5 days, clearing takes a little longer,
http://www.homewinemaking.co.uk/forum/YaBB.pl?board=non try this site, nice friendly folks, very relaxed atmosphere
the above recipe is good with other juices instead of apple!Last edited by ohbeary; 23-04-2010, 11:30 PM.Eat well, live well, drink moderately and be happy (hic!)
