  • Labeling Wine

    Hi

Will be bottling up my rhubarb wine in the next couple of weeks (i think) and im looking for a good and creative way to label my bottles. Are there any good templates or sticky labels availalbe that i can pint onto or is paper and glue just as good?

    Any advice is welcome

I simply write on the sort of 'peel and stick' address labels sold for computer printers, but then I only want to know what I am drinking, not make the labels pretty. If it is to give away, or impress friends (perfectly reasonable, just doesn't happen to apply here) then you need something a bit fancier.

The bottle doesn't stay opened for long so I too just need a hint as to what it is. I bought several packets of little plastic luggage labels. An elastic band round the bottle neck and there you go sorted. Name and date bottled and off you go.

Thanks for your suggestions though. Will probably use them for the wine i dont give away.

You might have to jig the sizes to fit your sticky labels, but I use the templates here

I'm using Word or Works for labels, ordinary printer paper, and free clip art. Nothing fancy, but looks nice enough.
The labels are stuck on with sticky back plastic (looks nicer than sellotape)

I use Publisher from office using Avery Label 5164. Off fleabay you can buy 25 A4 labels for about £4.99 using the Avery label above it will print off 6 at a time ideal when you get 6 bottles to a gallon

Sorry to hijack thread!...but I've been looking for some nice beer bottle labels for a Christmas gift for my husband to use for his homebrew. If anyone knows of a site where I could order some that would be great, all I've found so far are wine ones. Don't think my creative skills are up to designing something myself!

I never know how best to label my produce. This is a good start. I only use it for using the template and printing my own.

I would have thought the 199 steps would put them off!
