I have a punnet of each - and am not sure what to do with them. There is not enough to make any big brews/wine out of, so I was thinking along the lines of something simple (like sloe gin) - so what works well with cranberries and redcurrants? I was thinking of cranberry vodka...

If you can get hold of some raspberries and add those, it's a somewhat magical combination!
Failing that, just follow the same principles as for sloe gin. Cranberries are pretty sour (as are sloes) so it won't hurt to use quite a lot of sugar (up to half the weight of fruit, unless you prefer things a bit on the sour side). Redcurrants might be better with a bit less sugar, but with either, I would combine the fruit and sugar and leave it like that, somewhere warm, for a day or so before adding the alcohol. Sugar will draw juice (and hence flavour and colour) out of fruit, but it works better if there is no other liquid in the jar.Flowers come in too many colours to see the world in black-and-white.

I made my cranberries into cranberry sauce and apple and cranberry cheese, both ready for Christmas. First year I've had enough so all good
Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.
Which one are you and is it how you want to be?
