Heh, small world. I had a look on google maps, then browsed around the area and I saw your place up there! I thought it was in Fishguard. Small world

(I'm not stalking you, honestly!) hehe

I can't believe this - its down the road a bit. I walk down that way most days along the beach. Have you been there before Chris?
You must come up and have a look round. I'll PM you my phone number as my mobile is undergoing a changeover and I'm not sure about it yet! Maybe you can explain it to me
I'm going down there today so maybe see you there? Small world

          Crazy.

          Any elderflowers up there?

I haven't been before, but El + the kiddies have. Yep, I'm sure we could meet up there, that would be great. I'm sure Seren would love your treehouse!

Of course there are elderflowers, Chris. Bring your secateurs etc.
Seren is very welcome to try the treehouse and my swing!! Give me a shout when you want to come up - if I don't see you around first!

Anyhoo, networking aside, elderflowers nearby are in various stages, the roadside ones are more open, the backlane ones that I'm after are just opening, I took the bike and checked them this morning, after falling asleep in the conservatory this afternoon it took a few moments on waking to work out why I had siezed up!, must use the bike more

Here's a tip! ( if you need elderberries later on)

Make a note of where you are seeing elderflowers now- then when they turn to elderberries they'll be easier to find!

                Simples!

Most importantly try to remember which ones smelled mousey!, the taste will linger in the berries!.

TS uses google maps and creates markers/drop pins on them to future ref - could be worth doing if you want the berries!

                        I am most excited!
                        Have flowers on the bush.
(I think) I have two bushes, so I can use one for the flowers, one for the berries, though they are rather small.
This will be my first time to try either.

                        • Picked the first lot for cordial today (it overhangs our garden), it's steeping now adn will be strained tomorrow.
Never had much success with elderflower fizz, after it exploded 3 years on the trot (luckily in the shed not the house) I gave up But the cordial is lovely with lemonade

                            • Just wondering whether I can dry the elderflowers or freeze them in some way. My goosegogs are not nearly ready and I'd like to try combining them.
Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

seperate flowers as usual in lots of 6 heads each and put in freezer bags, squeeze out air and freeze, you will have batches of 1 gallon doses ready to use.
