Yes, basically I put the fruit in let it soak for a month or so and then filtered and added sugar. The only thing I found is that once the bottle is opened it oxidises so this year it will go in small bottles which I can use quickly.Gardening requires a lot of water - most of it in the form of perspiration. I've got some blackcurrants macerating in gin. I've only just started them, but will eventually add to sugar syrup for a cassis-type thing for Kir Royales. I'm planning on starting some more over the next few weeks, so might be tempted to try something new. When macerating fruit in whatever alcohol you choose, do you keep in the 'fridge? Some people seem to keep in the larder/cellar, others in the 'fridge... any views (sorry binley, didn't mean to hijack)?I don't roll on Shabbos

I don't really like the flavour tbh....but then again I don't like Schnapps.
I prefer to use vodka, gin or calvados as the stuff I bought was almost the same price as the spirits I know I like"Nicos, Queen of Gooooogle" and... GYO's own Miss Marple

I use it with fruit and I think I used it in one of the quarante quatres that you tried but I do prefer eau de vie, it's more expensive but then, as I always say, you get what you pay forA garden is a lovesome thing, God wot! (Thomas Edward Brown)
