Does anyone else on here make there own cider ive been doing it a few years now and every year the finished product seams to get better. Spent most of Friday evening bottling just under half off this years brew, ran out of bottles at about 9pm but was pretty hammered by then to be honest. Still got 20 gallons to bottle as soon as some more bottles arrive.

Yup every year. Mate of mine has a few bramley trees in his garden and he gives me all the tiddlers and windfalls. Good year for juiciness last year for apples apparently, got nearly 60L of juice. Really must get round to bottling mine too.
    Are y'oroight booy?

Yes for the first time last year. Not a huge amount of flavour. Need more practice!

I made 20L from budget apple juice for a barbecue and despite not having enough time for it to clear everyone thought it was great.

How do you make cider, and Can you make cider from any type of apples. There are several apple trees on the verge of our road and I would love to have a go.

I use any kind of apples I can get , crush , press or juice extract then ferment , rack off into a clean barrel when it's stopped fermenting then drink when it clears . I've given up bottling as its to much aggro and Just tap off from the barrel no
