  • Chilli Vodka!

I'm sure some folks on here like to partake in a wee tipple or three so I thought I would share this, just come across it and wondered if anyone has tried to make this or something similar, this is one that I think I would like to have a go at.

Let's hope I have enough chillis!

How to make Chilli Vodka and what to do with it when you do?

Will watch this thread with interest. I had chilli vodka on the 'to do' list this year. I have made Sparrows rhubarb vodka and kinda finished the not full bottle after filtering them

I did it a year or two back - I believe I enjoyed it - perhaps a little to much as I'm a bit foggy about it. It was definitely nice but whether that was only by the third shot I couldn't say.
I'm largely banned from spirits these days ;0

Blackberry Vodka for me - it is delicious! and I don't share

I got the recipe from an old gent in the supermarket, he was grabbing all the reduced blackberries one evening and I couldn't think why he would want that many. I've made it every year since.

Chilli Vodka sounds like a good shot for my brothers Christmas box...I wonder how many black nagas I should use?

I'm not keen on sloe gin.

Haha, well he wasn't very precise...he said, get one bottle of vodka and one empty one. Tip about an inch and a half of sugar in the empty bottle and push in as many blackberries as you can be bothered. Pour in half the vodka. Add sugar and blackberries to the other. Shake to dissolve sugar. Store till Christmas, taste, you can add some more sugar if it's not sweet enough. It always works out.
I always use "brambles" so the fruit come easily out of the bottle, they are delicious on ice cream...if your blackberries are large it may be worth putting it all in some kilner jars.

Blackcurrant vodka is to 'die for' - haven't yet extracted the recipe that my 'so-called' friend on the plot uses but there are some on t'interweb that look good. Will be trying one this year. Very dangerous if you like ribena... one of your 5 a day though I guess

Hmmm blackberry whisky, sounds interesting. Do you make it a similar way to the blackberry vodka?

it says in the book to fill a kilner jar 2/3rds full with dry(not dried) blackberrys put in enough sugar to cover the bottom half of the berrys then top up with whisky ,shake gently daily and after 6 months bottle and eat the berrys ,then leave it for a year and drink
