  • What veg have you preserved in vinegar?

Are there many veg that CAN'T be preserved in vinegar?

I've just been doing boring Jalapeno's, carrots and shallots along with the obligatory beetroot.
How about crunchy cabbage (not that borsh mush!) or swede or leek?

Pickled sprouts or spuds (par boiled methinks)...........pickled apples, rhubarb, sweetcorn, radish...................sorry folks I'm getting carried away here!

In essence......whats in your pickle jars?

i have to pickle any beetroot we get, cos son doesn't like it non-pickled ...... the only other pickled thing i tend to eat, is pickled eggs ...... i love them.

I love pickled cauliflower. I have a recipe for pickled plums and one for pickled lemons but can't think what either would be used for afterwards.

Would that be for whole lemons or lemon slices?

oooooooo i could do a BBQ too ....... you only want to come and laugh ..... you just know what's gonna happen, someone will drop wood on their head, someone will bash something with a hammer, it won't fit together, someone will fall over in the mud, fall through the wall, knocking the house down get up, then find one of the nails i dropped standing up in the lawn, and end up in casualty having it removed .... not that i think anything will go wrong of course

did beetroot and shallots, oh and made some piccalilli, don't like the stuff myself, but I'm assured by the men in my life that it's lush!
