You're not going to believe this (although you probably will )

I have an excess of PSB atm, the OH and the little ones are away atm, my 7 PSB plants don't know that and are still producing like there is no tomorrow, I had a table set up outside my house with a notice saying it's free and to take what you want, but donations are welcome, with a big pot full of PSB to choose from......... and nobody took anything. I can hardly believe it..... it was out all day today, don't they know this stuff is gourmet fgs.

My neighbours are all away, I need help to deal with the box of it.

I can stick it in the fridge, but by the time the rest of them get home, new stuff will be on the plants, so that's not feasible. Help!

Thanks, but is it really worth it, does it taste ok out of the freezer? And how long to blanch it.....can you tell I really don't want to do it That's not the deal I grow it, er indoors cooks it...... most of the time, if I really want a well cooked morsel, I do it myself. Fgs, don't tell her I said that

It only takes a few minutes to cook so I wouldn't try blanching it as it will turn to mush when cooked....surely!

I dunno, blimey I've got a massive box full of the stuff, I don't want to blanch it to start with, I can't believe the people who live around me are so silly. Maybe I should chop it up and serve it up in little microwavable dishes, maybe they would eat it then.

Or in a polystyrene tray with clingfilm over it and a big Tesco's sign across it!

I'm like you Womble. I like to eat stuff in season and not freeze it. There's only 2 of us in the house and I find that 3 plants gives us all the PSB we want to eat , don't want it with everything. Maybe you could cut down on your number of plants for next year.
I know what you mean about the people who won't take the stuff. I've offered people things and they just look in amazement. If it doesn't come pre prepared in a supermarket bag it's not real food.

I swear if I clingfilmed it, marked it organic and charged £2.50 a go, I would have them swarming all over me, especially if I went for the sultry tones of the M&S adverts, not me you understand, but the Mrs.....

Alice, I had 3 plants of normal PSB and 4 plants of Redhead, they were supposed to be separate harvest times

OK, it's cream of brocolli soup Womble. Nice with some cheese crumbled over.

Try freecycle, there got to be someone somewhere near you that will appreciate it, obviously not your nearest neighbours though!

cant believe you lot dont freeze your surplus .....think of the winter when there's f*** all in the garden.....throw the stuff into boiling water for a minute, drain, dry a bit and shove in a plastic bag - write on it what it is and next November you'll be glad you did.

Yes but how does PSB do in the freezer? I can do french beans just, because they're not too bad, but most things are just horrible from frozen. I'm not freecycling it, no way, soup stuff sounds ok.
I wish the Oh was here to sort it out

Womble, get with the programme. You're just trying to avoid getting in the kitchen and doing "women's work" I suspect.
