I freeze mine whole in ziploc freezer bags. Despite them being sealed, all the ice cream tastes a bit of chillies.

Again I freeze them whole in bags. I did start using 5lt tubs to freeze them in. Trying to reduce single use plastics, but went back to bags because I could get an extra 6kg in the freezer.
The other good thing about freezing them whole is they are (mostly) easy to cut when frozen. So if you don’t want a whole super hot in your meal you can cut what you want and put the rest back in the freezer.
I’ve never noticed any crossover heat on anything else in the freezer.
