ALL my toms got blight at the weekend, so I've been busy looking for recipes for about 12 kilos of green tomatoes! Have made the standard chutneys, green tomato soups, cucumber and green tomato relish, etc, etc but STILL had about 2.5 kilos left this morning and needed to something before I lost them all.
I found GREEN TOMATO MINCEMEAT on the web this morning and though "nothing ventured, nothing gained". I was pretty sure it was gonna be yuck but decided as I was likely to have to throw them out anyway I had little to lose.
It's finished and I've just tasted it and I have to tell you it is absolutely fabulous! I cannot believe that something with green tomatoes could taste just like christmas mincement! Happy to post the recipe if anyone wants it?
