  • Le-Parfait seals

    Hi Everybody

    We are making up batches of tomato chutney (Red and Green) and we are going to be storing it in Le-Parfait jars.

    Now we are sterilizing the jars in the oven and my question is can we leave the rubber seals on them or do we need to remove them whilst the jars are in the oven?

    If it is the empty jars you are sterlizing take the seals off and boil them then put them back after the jars are full. If you put them in the oven with the jars the heat will destroy the rubber.

    BTW putting them back on full jars is a 2 person operation.
