Cucumbers coming thick and fast - 3 big jars of bread and butter pickles! Cauliflower at the plot, so I feel a small batch of piccalilli coming on.

                    • Wow mrs wadders do you ever stop!

What's the bread and butter pickle you make, sounds intriguing!

Can't wait til next year when I'm in full growin season to try out some of these goodies, new to 'full blown growing' this year so only got tomatoes and chillis on the go right now - suggestions for these - how do you make chilli jam?

                      • will sort out the recipe I used when I get home - good housekeeping one I think. Although if you g@@gle it there are loads out there which are similar, it's basically sliced cucumbers and onions with mustard seeds, really nice, and of course especially with bread and butter! I've also got a load of cherries in the freezer so will be making cherry and pineapple jam and cherry and apple jam (got 3 huge bags of apples to use up!)
I picked up an old copy the good hosekeeping preserving book last year from a charity shop, loads of brilliant recipes in there (only cost £1.75) worth keeping an eye open for or have a look on a@@zon
