Strawberries

Apart from jam and strawberry ice cream, does anyone have any recipes for making a strawberry kind of syrup, that I could just keep in freezer to serve over ice cream?

I picked over 4 lbs of strawberries yesterday and need to do something with the ones we can't eat - fastish!
